Although Southern California may not necessarily experience four distinct seasons throughout the year, all you have to do is take a look around to notice the vibrant colors of fall. Just a few of the hot spots for viewing cool colors include:
Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden
Spread over 86 acres in Claremont, you’ll find ample evidence that fall is in the air at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden. Here you can marvel at roughly 2,000 different plants that are native to the Golden State.
LA County Arboretum
Another great area for viewing the hues of autumn is the LA County Arboretum. There is a myriad of fall foliage here – and you might even see a few peacocks wandering about the grounds.
Descanso Gardens
There are a number of native California plants that call the Descanso Gardens their home. This beautiful destination, which is situated in the La Canada Flintridge locale, is open year-round (except for Christmas Day).
Ortega Highway
If you’re more of a drive-thru fall color gawker, then a drive along the Ortega Highway between the Palm Desert to San Juan Capistrano can provide you with plenty of bright scenery. And, if you’re in the spirit of Halloween, you’ll get an extra bonus here, because it’s been said that this road is haunted!
