While it is easy to simply look up and see the famed Hollywood sign from numerous locations in and around SoCa, if you really want to get up close and personal, there are a few key spots where the landmark really stands out.

For instance, if you are a hiker at heart, the relatively new Wonder View Trail is a great way to access the famous landmark sign. Here, as you head up the steep ridgeline, the back of the large letters will soon come into full view.

An alternate hike in Bronson Canyon can also provide you with some great views, and photo ops, of the Hollywood sign. Be sure that you allocate some time here, though, as a round-trip will typically take about three hours.

If hiking just isn’t your thing, then you could just simply head over to Lake Hollywood Park. The viewing is particularly good if you opt to park along Canyon Lake Drive. Likewise, you could either drive or take the DASH to the intersection of Mulholland Highway and Deronda Drive and then head towards the Deronda gate. (Note that even though there is a gate with a sign indicating there is no access, the gate’s keypad has a timed lock that will automatically open, provided that you are there during daylight hours).
