If the Malibu home of recording icon David Geffen sells at or above its current $85 million asking price, it could constitute a record setting sale. (The home was initially listed for $100 million back in 2015).

This unique two-story beachfront property offers a great deal to sing about, though, including a pool and spa, a screening room, and a lily pond, along with a detached guest quarters. It also provides the ultimate in privacy, with four “fake” garage doors facing the street, as well as curb cut-outs on the road that leads to the estate, giving the illusion that drivers cannot park in the vicinity.

Geffen initially pieced the five parcels of land together where the home sits, buying them in two phases over time – first in the mid-1970s, and later in 1999. Over the past few years, though, Geffen has been residing more on the east coast, splitting his time in his New York City penthouse – which has technically been under renovation since 2013 – as well as aboard his nearly $600 million, 454-foot yacht, where he has entertained passengers such as Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, and Barack and Michelle Obama.

While it is rumored that David Geffen’s Malibu compound currently has a pending offer for its asking price, nothing has yet been officially confirmed.
