No plans yet for New Year’s Eve? How about dinner and a movie – but not just any movie. If you really want to be entertained, then check some of the top movie theaters in and around the Los Angeles area.

With LA being the movie capital of the world, it can be hard to choose where to take in your next flick. But, depending on your preference, one of these may be the ideal spot:

ArcLight Hollywood – Located at 6360 Sunset Blvd., the ArcLight Hollywood theater has 14 screens, and a much longer list of amenities. For instance, reserved seating, and an Usher / Greeter who introduces the movie to the audience. And, if you’re afraid you’ll miss the opening thanks to late-comers, don’t be. That’s because just a few minutes after the scheduled start time, no further seating is allowed. In addition to its spot on Sunset Blvd., other ArcLight California locations can be found in Pasadena, El Segundo, and La Jolla.

Sundance Sunset Cinema – If you’re looking for a place to take in some limited release features, then check out the Sundance Sunset Cinema. Located in West Hollywood, the Sundance Sunset is considered to be one of the finest in Southern California. This theater features patio space and a lounge where you can enjoy tasty snacks, wine, and beer. It is also host to many guest filmmaker events.

New Bev – The New Beverly Cinema, also known simply as the New Bev, dates back to the 1920s (although it was renovated in 1978). Owned by Quentin Tarantino, you’ll find more arty and classic films here – which include double features for just a single ticket price.
